CORE Orthopedics Avera Medical Group is “one of the region’s best orthopedic centers and affiliated with McKennan Hospital.  We currently have 5 orthopedists, 1 podiatrist, and 5 P.A.'s.  We provide same day MRI, CT, Bone Density and nerve conduction studies.  We also have a surgery center where we perform same day and overnight procedures where we have 2 O.R.'s with 2 OEC C-Arms: a 9600 and a 9800 both of which we got from Block Imaging.”

What C-Arm Repair Problem Were You Trying to Overcome?

Sue: “We had a c-arm go down and needed it fixed quickly.  We were given an unacceptable time-line and a totally unacceptable price from the manufacturer with no guarantee.  The manufacturer really just recommended that we just trash the c-arm saying that parts are getting scarce and just buy a newer model.  I said... ‘No, we are going to check with Josh at Block Imaging first.’ My experience has always been that the folks at Block go above and beyond the call of duty to help.”    

Chad: “Recently, we had trouble with our 9600 where it wouldn't boot up.  That is a big problem since we use it every day.  I did some searching online using Google and discovered that it sounded like we had an SRAM card issue and got directed to Block Imaging's website where a big brown box said that they rebuild them. ”  

How Did Block Imaging Help?

Chad: “Needless to say, we then contacted Block Imaging who immediately reassured us they would help us get our c-arm going.  Steve, James and Tim were MORE than helpful.  I took the card out of the OEC and Steve told me where to send it... we had the SRAM card rebuilt and back in less than a day... SERVICE WAS FANTASTIC.  Not only that but when I did receive the card, the Block Imaging service team walked me through turning it on properly and said they would help our service technician calibrate the c-arm if needed.”

Chad: “I can't say enough GREAT things about Block Imaging!  We will buy from, use them again, recommend them... ABSOLUTELY!  To everyone I know and come in contact with. Thank you all so much for your help!”

MRI & CT Service Customer Recommends Block Imaging

"Earlier this year our center was confronted with the stark reality that we could no longer afford the cost of our OEM service contracts. We have a 1.5T MRI and a 16 Slice CT.

Our financial situation forced our facility to look outside of manufacturers support for service. I looked at several entities before settling on Block Imaging.

You should know that I've had positive experiences with our Block Imaging Flex Service Agreement.

I believe strongly enough about this company that I'm willing to share my experiences with others who are interested."

In addition, please consider the following:

  • Saving money: First and foremost, Block Imaging has saved our facility money. No question about that.
  • Glassware coverage: My CT tube is nearing end of life. My OEM contract did not include Glassware coverage. With Block Imaging, I now have glassware coverage for almost the same monthly payment I was paying to the OEM for my non-glassware contract. Good news for our partners who don't want to come up with $100K when the CT tube dies.
  • Contracts:Take a careful look at your own CT renewal agreement, with specific attention to the termination section. The last contracts I reviewed included these facts:
    • Non-cancelable
    • If you default, for any reason, your company is obligated to pay 100% of the remaining amount due. Example: If your company runs into financial trouble and you still have two years of payments remaining, your company is obligated to pay 100% of the remaining time you have on your agreement.

I found the above to be totally unacceptable but non-negotiable with other vendors. They would not bend. Compare the termination statement with Block Imaging. I think you'll find Block's Flex Service much more user friendly for your company.

When asked if I'd be willing to write a letter concerning my experiences with Block Imaging. Without hesitation I said yes."
