Day two at RSNA 2015 has come and gone with another fast-paced flurry of activity for both technical exhibitors and education session presenters. As ever, our Product Team spent much of the day at the Block Imaging booth connecting with our friends and partners. Meanwhile, those of us on the Blog Team had the chance to meet with more of the radiology professionals that will be bringing new ideas to the table and fueling discussions with their colleagues for the year to come.
Here's a recap of what our team experienced on RSNA, day two:
CT and C-Arm Connections
A significant portion of the work we do at Block Imaging is related to CT and C-arm equipment. Both of these modalities are well represented at McCormick Place this week and technical experts for each can be found in almost every aisle of the exhibition hall. To gain some insight on the kinds of conversations that are taking place around CT and C-arms, we asked our CT Product Specialist, David Harns and our C-Arm Product Specialist, Kacy Cooper to tell us the buzz they've been hearing in their specialties at RSNA 2015. Take a look at the clip below to learn a little more about XR-29 requirements for CT and functional upgrades for C-arms.
Health Care Reform
Everyone in America, let alone those of us connected to radiology, has seen some kind of change in their life or their work arising from the health care reform initiatives of the last several years. Being the largest radiology gathering in the US, of course, there is plenty of talk about those changes at RSNA 2015.
We had the chance to interview one of this year's presenters, Dr. Lawrence Muroff, for more information on the ways things are changing for radiologists and what they can do to face the challenges that will result. You can watch the interview here or catch Dr. Muroff's session on Wednesday, from 8:30 - 10:00 am, in room S105AB.
The second day of RSNA 2015 has echoed one of the themes we discussed in our day one recap: a year of change. Facilities using CT scanners will see the fruits of their XR-29 preparations in just a few short weeks, C-arm users have new options to improve the functionality of their systems and extend equipment life, and many aspects of the radiology landscape will continue to shift as reform measures roll out.
We look forward to more conversations about changes and challenges in the days to come and will continue to bring you our experiences as a team from RSNA 2015 in Chicago. Check back tomorrow for more presenter interviews, more trending topics, and more pictures from the floor. Speaking of pictures...
Picture of the Day
One should never come to an RSNA meeting without EXCEPTIONALLY comfortable shoes. Here are two very stylish options modeled just outside our booth in the south hall by our team members Emily and Samba. We'll let you guess who's wearing which pair. And if you're on the floor this week regretting your footwear decisions, search #rsnashoes on Twitter to see more examples of opulent Oxfords and fetching flats that will carry you through next year's rigors.
