I think I speak for our entire team when I say we're excited to be at another RSNA and even more excited to share the experience day-to-day, through blogging, with all our friends and business partners who can't be here in person. Be sure to check back for more as the week goes on.
That said, let's dive into what we've seen already trending, emerging, and changing in radiology for the upcoming year right now, here at McCormick Place as RSNA 2014 kicks off!
The first remarkable thing we saw today was the incredible overnight transformation of the exhibition hall at McCormick Place. What, less than 24 hours ago, was a sea of crates and pallets being navigated by forklifts and "cherry pickers" is now a finished show floor, fully carpeted, studded with colorful displays, and teeming with radiology professionals. Watch our RSNA preview video clip to get a feel for the amazing work done by the crews that lay the groundwork for this annual meeting.
Today's show-opening activity at the Block Imaging booth (hall A, #3129) was just the beginning of what we hope will be a trend for the next four days: back-to-back-to-back meetings with friends, providers, and clients that we've worked with over the years to keep great imaging equipment in the field, serving patients. As many past attendees will tell you, RSNA is a hot spot for building relationships that will help you do what you do better, and for a growing base of people.
We also, of course, had the opportunity to connect with many people for the first time. These meetings gave us a chance to hear some new needs and begin the conversations that will lead to new ways of meeting those needs together. To learn a bit more on the relational side of RSNA's annual meeting, see the clip below for footage directly from the floor and interviews with the Block team and other attendees.
One of the equipment trends we've seen so far that is particularly interesting in the portable X-ray and rad room space is the proliferation of digital upgrade options. Our team has been providing these types of upgrades for some time but, as we continue to make connections here on the floor, we're seeing new ways we can help bring reliable analog equipment into the running alongside newer digital systems. Image quality, portability, pricing- however a facility needs to strike their individual balance, RSNA 2014 is equipping us to help analog X-ray users become digital X-ray users better than ever.
Pic of the Day
And, of course, it wouldn't be a trip to RSNA if we didn't have a little bit of fun. Today's "pic of the day" comes to you courtesy of Infab Radiation Protection Products, who were kind enough to let me realize a childhood dream with one of their fun and fashionable Michael Jordan classic leaded aprons.
Don't forget to check back tomorrow for more RSNA 2014 straight from the floor at McCormick Place!
