Block Imaging Announces Plans for Growth

Siemens Healthineers and CommonSpirit Health Agree to Acquire

Block Imaging, Positioning Company, Headquartered in Holt, Michigan for Significant Growth

Siemens Healthineers and CommonSpirit Health recently agreed to acquire Block Imaging, a global leader in refurbished medical imaging equipment, parts, and service with headquarters in Holt, Michigan.

This first-of-its-kind acquisition will pave the way for Block Imaging to address the increasing demand from U.S. hospitals, health systems, and other care sites for imaging equipment, parts, and services, benefiting healthcare providers globally.

Block Imaging expects this agreement to propel its growth in the refurbished imaging parts and service sector and plans to hire 100 new full-time team members over the next two years.

Block Imaging has been on a growth trajectory since Bruce Block founded the company out of his home in Dewitt in 1997, growing from one team member to 180 in 2023.

“When my dad started Block Imaging out of our house in 1997 with hopes of providing for his own family, he would've never fathomed that someday the business would provide employment opportunities for hundreds of local families. Providing not just jobs but a place where individuals can grow and thrive is central to our mission, People Matter. We’re thrilled to be able to add to this team in such a substantial way to not only serve more healthcare providers with cost-effective imaging parts and service but also to provide meaningful employment to many others in our community,” said Josh Block, president of Block Imaging.

While Block Imaging expects the new growth to impact all areas of the organization, there will be a specific focus on adding roles responsible for handling industrial medical imaging equipment, including electronics repair and mechanical technicians.

Block Imaging offers extensive on-the-job training for team members who are new to the industry.
