Refurbished GE AdvantxIf you're looking for an R/F room, chances are you're after something that's reliable and affordable but still has lots of great features. We'd like to point out a refurbished GE Advantx R/F room with an Infimed i5 upgrade as an option that can meet all three of those criteria.

The Advantx doesn't have all of the same features as some of the newer systems that have come along, but that's where the refurbishment options that are available come into play. Keep reading and we'll give you three great reasons why an Advantx with the i5 is well worth considering.

When we say "availability," we mean it in every sense. The Advantx has been around a while which, in this case, gives it a distinct advantage. GE is an extremely prevalent manufacturer and the Advantx has enjoyed widespread popularity. This makes for high availability of refurbished systems on the secondary market. In terms of upkeep, an R/F suite with a bread-and-butter system like the Advantx at its core will be in the skill set of most service engineers and replacement parts will be easy to find.

Available Upgrades

If you buy your refurbished Advantx room from a reputable vendor, its functionality will meet the original specifications of the manufacturer. On top of that, your fluoro throughput and image quality will increase with the Infimed i5 upgrade. With the i5, the Advantx steps years forward in capabilities.

Take a look at the table below to see how an Advantx with the Infimed i5 compares to the next two generations of GE R/F:

GE Legacy vs GE Advantx + Infimed i5 vs GE P500D

For the radiography side of the Advantx, digital detector panels are available from a number of manufacturers. These upgrades can give the system the image acquisiton speed and quality of a factory-made digital radiography system.

Buying a refurbished Advantx with the Infimed i5 upgrade will cost you a fraction of what it costs to buy a new R/F room. Add on a digital detector panel for maximum rad performance, and the savings are still in the tens of thousands.

There are certainly other criteria and features to be considered in your hunt for the right R/F room, but we think the ones we've mentioned here could be enough to keep the GE Advantx and the i5 on your list of candidates. If you'd like to know more about it or other R/F models, we're here to help. Contact us with your questions or leave us a comment.
