Recently, Block Imaging's President of Parts and Service, Jason Crawford had the opportunity to host Linda Comisar, a recognized hospital supply chain leader, to learn key insights about how third-party parts providers can work more effectively with clinical engineering teams. Linda is known for developing the Centralized Procurement Group for Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), the second-largest nonprofit health system in the nation, serving as National Procurement Manager PAS: CE, and speaking at industry conferences on new supply chain strategies in the clinical engineering industry and centralized procurement strategies.

According to their website, "CHI operates in 19 states and comprises 103 hospitals... and other facilities and services that span the inpatient and outpatient continuum of care." As a testament to their quality focus and growing accessibility, CHI, "generated operating revenues of $15.2 billion in fiscal year 2015."

Carrying over and applying knowledge and experience gained in the manufacturing industry, Linda consolidated the parts purchasing needs of every imaging facility in the expansive CHI network, cutting costs and freeing the time of clinical engineers to keep them focused on the equipment that CHI physicians use to serve patients.
