Hello, I’m Abraham Cohen, Block Imaging’s Account Representative for Latin America. My goal is to offer insight and information that will help medical facilities choose the best equipment to meet the unique needs of communities in Latin America. Growing up in Caracas, Venezuela and working in the medical equipment sales industry for the last 10 years, I have the knowledge (both technical and cultural) to understand what a facility is looking for and which equipment will be the best match.
A bit more about me…
As I mentioned before, I was born and raised in Venezuela and came to the U.S. in 2001 to attend college at the University of Tampa. After college, I moved to Miami, where I worked in medical sales with an emphasis on imaging equipment until accepting my current position at Block Imaging and relocating once again to Michigan.
All of my Florida friends have told me I’m crazy for moving somewhere so cold, but I find the weather perfect for my hobbies. I’m an avid triathlete and marathon runner and, believe me, it’s much nicer to run 13-26 miles at 55° than 100°.
In January 2016, I began working toward setting a new world record for the most half Ironman triathlons completed in a single year. The current record sits at 23. Each race is 70.3 miles: a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, and a 13.1-mile run. On top of setting a new record, these races give me the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Challenged Athletes Fund. Visit my website to see how you can get involved and track my progress.
When I'm not racing, I also love to spend time with my daughter, traveling, practicing sports, or just staying in and watching a movie.
Whatever imaging equipment you need, I look forward to getting to know you as well and helping you get informed to make an excellent pick for your patients and your practice.
